The Radar: Announcing Single Saturdays

Estimated Reading Time:
They say that people have an internal radar to track and blip into their potential mate. They say that once you are committed to someone, you suddenly start getting more attention from those people you weren't able to click with before. They say that we even have an inbuilt radar to track desperation.  Heck, there's even a gay-dar! They also say that I have a radar to crash into every sharp object around me, so what do ‘they’ know?

Now this concept of 'ze internal radar' has always baffled me. The logical side of me (and believe me, that's a real strong side) automatically says that it's the body language, it's the pheromones, maybe it's the confidence, it's the aloofness that screams “I don't care and therefore I must be awesome” attitude, or maybe it's all of the above!

But you know what that means - EXPERIMENT TIME! {jazz hands}
All the situations that a single individual can come across in this world of mixing, mingling, milling about, marrying (?),...well, you get the idea.

Hmm. I thought about it and then, I thought some more. I had myself some Tylenol, and went to thinking again. I didn't need to think so much because I realized that we could try all of them!

What’s ‘them’, you ask? 'Them', my curious reader, are all the situations that a single individual can come across in this world of mixing, mingling, milling about, marrying (?),...well, you get the idea.

So, what do we have to do to test out these, ahem, variables in this seemingly innocuous social experiment?

Well, I thought I'd start by figuring out my playing field first. I know, I know, I heard it the minute I said it. Playing field, eh? A playa will always be a playa, ya feel? Okay, okay. I'll be serious about all these tests, I promise. [Scientist face, engaged]

Here’s what we are going to do. And by ‘we’, I mean me.

I am going to try and tune into all these different kinds of radars. Adventures as a single on dating apps, as a tipsy club-hopper, as a curious tourist who loves to get local (if you know what I mean), as the May with the December, as the fraandly fraandship guru, and so many more. I am going to explore them all, so you don’t have to! Deal?

Starting next week, come join me as I make detailed notes of my experiments with Singledom, “Single Saturdays”, right here!
