Rumi Reviews : Ouai Hair Products

Estimated Reading Time:
In case you have been living under a rock or more likely living a real life in reality, or even more likely - your husband/boyfriend/significant other - doesn't like the Kardashians anymore than Habibi does and automatically changes the channel when Keeping Up With The Kardashians comes on, then you won't know who Jen Atkin is. No Biggie. I'll hook you up.

This is Jen Atkin.

We know her because she is, for the most part, the master genius behind the Kardashians' manes.

So #duh, she started her own line of hair products, Ouai, pronounced way.

Now what does this have to do with me?
Well.
Usually i'm in India and I can only read about cool product launches and ooh and aah over them on social media.
Not this time.
This time, when I came across the Ouai Repair Kit in Sephora, I pounced.

Here's the Verdict:

Treatment Masque - I started with the masque, combing it through my hair before putting it up into a bun for 10 minutes. It smelt so good in the tube, and even better on my fingertips but the minute I put it in my hair - Lord have mercy but it smelt horrible. I couldn't smell it once I put my hair up into the bun though so yay?

Shampoo - It didn't have much of a fragrance; at least one that I noticed - good or bad.Something I wasn't expecting: the shampoo is a little goopy... does that make sense? What I mean to say is that it doesn't have the consistency of every other kind of shampoo we are used to. A deal breaker? Not so much although it definitely took some getting used to.

Conditioner - OMG but did this smell heavenly. I was really scared to put it on my hair in case it turned out to be another masque fiasco but I figured 'in for a penny, in for a pound.' I didn't have to worry, it still smelt wonderful once I had it worked into my hair.

Final Result:
I have typical South Indian girl hair, long and curly/wavy, with a tendency to frizz like Monica's on a humid Barbados beach, even without the humidity. I got it highlighted about a year ago - which I still regret- so it's even more crazier and straw- like than ever.

My hair is a person of it's own and that girl be cray.

The treatment didn't help with the frizz - at all - but my hair definitely felt and looked better. It was soft for the first time in months, the split ends weren't as obvious, my hair was shinier - in the good way - and it laid fluffily flat against my head for the first time in a long time.

Rumi Rating:  4/5 - for the way it works
0/5 - the smell : oh the smell
